Portraits and Pints

  • PH1 Studios 401 Richmond Street West Toronto, ON, M5V 3A8 Canada (map)

In this 3 hour workshop, we will be exploring an illustrative style of portraiture often associated with tattoo culture, along with learning some of the history of this traditional tattoo subject.

We will discuss how to choose the right shape of eyes, nose and lips to tell a story. Along with decorative elements to help illustrate the narrative, you will be learning the rule of faces, how the features are positioned in an anatomically correct way. At the end of the class you have made a finished illustrated portrait, and the skills to create your own designs! While enjoying a pint from a local brewery.

Hosted in the iconic 401 Richmond building, a historic arts hub in downtown Toronto, this inspiring location is the perfect backdrop to spark imagination and creative flow. It’s also a great place to explore before or after class, with artist-run galleries and cultural spaces all under one roof.

Duration: 3 hours

What will you leave with: a finished illustration of a lady head and skills to create your own design

All materials will be provided. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today!
